New Things...

Greetings,

Just so everyone knows, I am no longer employed by any company or corporation.  Don't worry, it's not a big deal.  As many of you know, I bumped my hours back to 24/week recently because I needed to keep my sanity, and so, with the economy, I kind of saw this coming.

Accordingly, a few weeks ago I really started focusing on building up a student base for my guitar lessons, and I am happy to report that this month I went from having 3 students on Monday afternoons to now having 10 students between Monday and Tuesday afternoons.  The loss of my "day job" simply opens up Thursday and Friday afternoons for me to schedule the other new students who are contacting me - and it allows me to earn money by doing something that I truly love to do.

I only need about 5 more students in order for me to be able to not really feel any financial impact by the loss of the job, and I fully believe that those 5 will come, along with a few more on top of that.

My former employers, by the way, have been nothing short of fantastic.  I never really liked the job itself all that much (in fact, sometimes I downright hated it), but the company and my supervisors were always wonderful.  The two men who ran my department were always straight forward and honest, and I never once thought that they were full of shit, or that they had any type of hidden agenda.  They are class acts - which is more than I can say for almost every other employer I have worked for over the years.

So, that's it.  When people ask me what I do now, I can just tell them that I am a full-time student and a guitar teacher.  Wow, I can't even describe how cool that feels!

Last but not least, I feel like I should let you all know that my wife is truly amazing.  She has given me this gift.  She makes enough money and is understanding enough to allow me to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher without having to completely bust my balls doing it.  I have a hard time believing how cool she is, and I appreciate her so much.  She is absolutely marvelous!

I am the Reverend Humpy and I have approved this message.

I have quit teaching and have one student who would like to continue. If I can get your contact info, I will recommend you to them.
