Well, I got through my first day, and indeed my first week of school without anyone I love going to the hospital and/or passing away, so I guess I'm doing a lot better than last year already. Instead of worrying about vasospasms (mini-strokes) and funeral arrangements, I am only concerned with having to read Beowulf and a couple of history textbook chapters on the Enlightenment.
This is not to say that the first week went off without a hitch - quite the contrary. I had a certain professor whose utter inflexibility and passive/aggressive manner pinned me with an eleventh-hour choice between changing my class schedule around or eating almost $600 worth of travel plans. Seriously, who schedules tests on Mondays and Tuesdays? Furthermore, who makes the completion of every bit of homework and tests mandatory for a passing grade and then refuses to allow late work or make-up exams regardless of the circumstances?!
Oh well. Class dropped. New class added. Problem solved. Vegas awaits.
I have a pretty full schedule this quarter, but I really hope to blog as often as possible. It's therapeutic. I don't really have anything important to say tonight, but I'm sure I will soon enough. Once the wheels of my mind get rolling into intellectual pursuits, chances are I'll find something to rant about. Then, what fun we will have!!
I am the Reverend Humpy and I have approved this message.
