I think a little perspective is in order.
Inside my body (and yours) are myriad protons, neutrons, and electrons, which are organized to form mostly carbon atoms, along with some hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and the like. These atoms, are held "together" by electromagnetic energy, though there is a relatively huge amount of space separating their component particles. The electrons in the outer shells of these atoms bond with electrons from other atoms to form molecules. These molecules end up being cells, and the cells end up being things like skin, blood, hair, organs, etc. - what we understand as the physical make-up of my body (and yours).
Most of the time, my body exists within a relatively small geographical area in the Eastern part of Washington State, which is in the Northwest corner of the United States of America, which is located in the middle of the North American continent, in the Northwestern hemisphere of the planet we call Earth. Earth is the third planet out in a solar system consisting of eight full-size planets and one very large chunk of ice and rock that we used to think of as a planet. This ordinary solar system is but one of myriad solar systems that make up a galaxy called the Milky Way. The Milky Way, as it turns out, is a rather ordinary galaxy in a universe which contains billions upon billions of galaxies. The universe may be one of an enormous number of universes.
The time it has taken me to write this was approximately 10 minutes of the approximately 14 billion year existence of the universe.
Have a nice day.
I am the Reverend Humpy and I have approved this message.
